How to Use This Tool

  1. Select Languages: Choose your source and target languages from the dropdown menus.
  2. Start Typing: Enter text into the left box. The translation will appear in the right box automatically.
  3. Use the Tools: Click the speaker icon to listen. It will turn into a stop icon ; click again to stop. Click the copy icon to copy text.

How to Add New Voices for Text-to-Speech

The "Speak" feature uses the voices installed on your operating system. If a language isn't working, you can often install it for free. Here’s how:

For Windows 10 & 11 Users:

  1. Open Settings (Press Windows Key + I).
  2. Go to Time & Language, then select Language & region.
  3. Click the Add a language button.
  4. Search for the language you want (e.g., French, Japanese) and select it.
  5. On the installation screen, make sure the Text-to-speech option is checked.
  6. Click Install and wait for it to complete.
  7. Restart your web browser for the new voice to be detected.

For Android Users:

  1. Open your device Settings.
  2. Go to System or General Management, then find Language & input.
  3. Tap on Text-to-speech output.
  4. Tap the gear icon next to your "Preferred engine" (usually "Speech Services by Google").
  5. Select Install voice data.
  6. Find the language you want from the list and tap the download icon to install it.
  7. Restart your web browser.
